Heritage Day! Let’s celebrate together!

Each year, we as South Africans celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of our country’s many different cultures and people.

Essentially, the meaning of Heritage Day in South Africa is that of unity and togetherness in spirit as a country; this is especially vital for the country when considering our rough South African heritage history of apartheid leading up to this holiday’s creation.

On Heritage Day, we acknowledge the good and the bad. We revel in the cultural diversity that is reflected in our art, music and cuisine, while celebrating the ideal of unity, and the ways in which we can join forces to build a brighter, safer and more equitable future for all our citizens.

Heritage Day is a time to celebrate, remember and pay tribute to the diverse mix of cultures and traditions that have contributed to the rise of our beloved rainbow nation.
